We Belgians love our chocolate. Instead of eating our (for some daily portion of) chocolate straight from the package, let’s do something creative and healthy with it! And chocolate mousse is one of those classics that’s (almost) everybody’s favourite dessert.

This recipe is healthy and super easy; no whisking or folding egg whites. Nothing can go wrong really!

Ingredients (4 portions)

  • 1 (ripe) avocado
  • 1 (ripe) banana
  • 1,5 table spoons of pure, raw cacao powder
  • 1,5 table spoons of honey
  • 50gr of Cote D’Or 86% dark chocolate (or any other really dark, bitter type of chocolate)
  • Garnish: 0,5 Carb Killa Chocolate Crunch protein bar


This recipe will take only 5 minutes and gives you instant chocolate mousse!  

Start with pealing your ripe avocado and banana and cut them into smaller pieces. Put the mixture of avocado and banana into your blender and mix until you have a very smooth texture.

Now add the cacao powder and honey and mix again until the mixture turned completely dark brown (that means the cacao powder is fully mixed). We don’t want green avocado pieces in our chocolate mousse!

Melt 50 grams of the darkest, purest chocolate you can find, and add the melted chocolate to your mixture and whisk until you get one creamy, silky, dark brown mixture.

TIP: We’ve used 86% dark chocolate because this is the healthiest (= less fat) chocolate to use. If you don’t like the bitterness of the chocolate, you can add milk chocolate, but then your chocolate mousse contains more fat.

This creamy mixture needs some crunch! Chop the Carb Killa Chocolate Crunch bar into very small pieces and use as garnish on top of your chocolate mousse.

Tip: you can also use the full protein bar and mix the crunchy pieces into the chocolate mousse!


This healthy chocolate mousse is the perfect dessert for a last-minute craving or to finish a dinner party. It’s ready in no time and will impress everybody!
